Crowded Environment Training: This intermediate training is suitable for individuals or members of safety teams, who carry in public. Engaging a threat in a public or crowded environment brings challenges most don’t consider. The inclusion of other ‘armed ‘good guys’ further complicates the dynamics. Students will benefit from a unique presentation of skills specifically selected for defending against an attacker with innocent persons present. Students will begin with open then concealed draws. Tactics vital to real world encounters in a public setting include safe carry, ready positions, movement around others, and using angles to minimize bystander danger. Threat Identification applications emphasize the increased difficulty posed by the presence of innocent by-standers.

Documented Performance Appraisal: Individual skill performances of safe handling, carry positions, draws, and threat identification will be evaluated on a pass / fail basis. This provides students and administrators an objective assessment of safe firearms handling around teammates and bystanders.

A shooting proficiency course designed to test marksmanship and weapons handling relevant to crowded environment conditions will be administered. This graded qualification provides documentation for shooters who meet the course standard.

Developed with 'Church Safety Teams' in mind following legal updates in 2017, the skills presented prepare any LTC holder to apply Defensive Handgun skills in crowded environments around innocent persons.

The presence of responsibly armed citizens can allow for an immediate defense to an armed intruder. While there is no legal requirement for individuals to receive additional training beyond the license to carry class, most people recognize the elevated risk of lethal engagements in crowded environment. The curriculum is based on decades spent designing, analyzing, and updating training provided to officers and armed citizens.

For organizations seeking to improve the capabilities of their volunteers while mitigating the risk of their response – training is the answer. I have outlined some additional training classes to meet this need. Please visit our corporate packages page for more information.

Prerequisite: Prior training is not required, but you must be competent and safe while handling, loading, and shooting your firearm. You will be moving and shooting.

Safe weapons handling is more important than your marksmanship skills.

Attendees exhibiting unsafe weapons handling will be removed from training without a refund.

RANGE FEES are an additional $20

Safety Policy

Conditioning safe shooters is a mission we take very seriously. Safety is important during training to avoid accidents, but safe weapons handling must be conditioned for it become habitual under stress. Each class or lesson begins with a safety brief to establish expectations and consequences for unsafe behavior. Minor violations are common in the beginning and will be remediated. Major violations can result in termination of training or removal from group classes.
