Friday, December 1, 2023

8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Cost - $250 per student payable to Group 6 Training

Range Fees - $20 per student cash or check to ETTS Range

This class is suitable for officers, security, CHL/LTC holders, and those with a desire to increase their performance with a handgun and shotgun.

Performance Handgun will focus on specific skills designed to enable shooters to deliver combat marksmanship in less time. There is no secret that marksmanship consists of a combination of grip, sights, and trigger. Speed comes from correct and efficient mechanics. Improved grip techniques minimize recoil and allow the handgun to return to the target sooner. Visual exercises condition the shooter to recognize sights alignment sooner, and proper trigger mechanics allow the shot to be taken without unnecessary delay. An efficient handgun draw is vital for all armed citizens. While the introduction of a shotgun or rifle as a primary weapon relegates the handgun to a secondary role, a safe and efficient transition is an essential skill.

Defensive Shotgun focuses on updated fundamentals with the shotgun. An aggressive stance and mount enables consistent target acquisition as well as improved recoil management for a natural return to the target for follow up shots. Shotgun manipulations of loading and reloading require efficient techniques and repetition for improvement.

The first few hours will focus on increasing performance with the handgun. Most of the day will be devoted to shotgun skills and applications.

Prerequisite: Prior training is not required, but you must be competent and safe while handling, loading, and shooting your firearm. You will be moving and shooting.

Safe weapons handling is more important than your marksmanship skills.

Attendees exhibiting unsafe weapons handling will be removed from training without a refund.

Safety Policy

Conditioning safe shooters is a mission we take very seriously. Safety is important during training to avoid accidents, but safe weapons handling must be conditioned for it to become habitual under stress. All training begins with a safety brief to establish expectations and identify consequences for unsafe behavior. Minor violations are common in the beginning and will be remediated. Major violations can result in termination of training or removal from group classes.
