Event Information and Outline

ACTIVITY

My goal for the 2017 PDCA outing was to keep it fresh for repeat attendees, without frustrating newcomers, all while maintaining strict safety standards for all.

New Skills include ‘Recoil management’ which means faster follow up shots on target. This requires more ammo per shooter. More bullets means more trigger time and better retention of skills. Multiple target techniques can translate to hunting engagements on moving targets for those attendees who hunt.

COMPETITION STAGE

Six – 6 person teams will run a timed and scored completion shooting stage.

This year’s stage is modeled after those used in SWAT competitions. A sniper from each team will use a suppressed sniper rifle to start the action. Other members fill the roles of perimeter and hostage rescue elements. The techniques of kneeling, multiple threats, and recoil management will be put to the test.

The fastest team time (after miss penalties are added) wins!

Bring any desired comfort items like lawn chairs, sunscreen, caps, and insect repellant.
Dress for outdoor conditions.  Ground cover is dirt and gravel. There is not a store but there is a porta-potty.

Personal Firearms
For safety reasons with a large group, no extra firearms will be allowed for use at the range. The activity schedule is full and there will be no extra time for shooting after the event.

Attendees bringing their own AR15 should bring it unloaded in a case. It should already be 'sighted in'. Upon arrival please turn it over to an instructor. These protocols are necessary with a large group of mixed experience shooters.
